Senior Accountant

ROLEn n The Senior Accountant works with the Sr.

Controller to manage the day to day accounting transactions, general ledger reconciliations and review to ensure US GAAP accounting practices are applied throughout.

The Senior Accountant is responsible for reconciling, preparing and distributing daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly and annual reporting such as the daily cash report, labor utilization report, monthly financial reporting package, balance sheet analysis and other ad hoc reporting pertaining to all accounting, audits and budgeting/forecasting.n n Duties & Responsibilitiesn Perform accounting functions as assigned including, but not limited to booking journal entries, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports.

Reconciliation of sales activity (sales, receivables, cash, etc.) and posting to general ledger.

Reconciliation of bank accounts, fixed asset ledger, prepaid expenses, and other balance sheet accounts.

Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to the general ledger.

Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.

Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.

Ensure all financial closing and reporting deadlines that have been assigned are met.

Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.

Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

Assist in annual year-end audit review and other audits (401K, sales tax, insurance, etc.).

Provide requested schedules and supporting backup in a timely manner.

Assist in annual budget preparation and re-projections throughout the year.

Perform account analysis and prepare reprojection for assigned areas.

Maintain organized, accurate and complete accounting records, electronically and hardcopies, as necessary.

Automate journal entry processes wherever possible.

Aid Sr.

Controller and colleagues.

Back-up month-end duties assigned to others, as necessary.

Identify and implement areas for process improvement and streamlining.

Document policies, procedures, and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility.

Participate in departmental meetings.

Develop trustworthy relationships with all colleagues.

Provides other support as directed.

n n Requirementsn 5+ years of related work experience in accounting as a Senior or Staff Accountant.

Bachelor”s Degree in Accounting (preferred), Business Administration, or Economics.

Experience in Sage ERP system (preferred).

Experience in Construction industry (preferred).

High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced excel features (VLOOKUP”s, pivot tables, macros, etc.) Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

CPA a plus.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Exceptional interpersonal, written, mathematical and verbal communication skills.
