Senior Director Financial Accounting and Reporting

The Senior Director Financial Accounting and Reporting has the responsibility over a list of US agencies on the accounting and reporting side.

The Senior Director Accounting will help ensure that the technical accounting and financial international reporting aspects of transactions and strategic decisions have been properly addressed and considered in the internal control environment.

This position oversees the operations of general accounting, financial reporting including balance sheet and profit and loss (P&L), compliance with internal controls standards and audit coordination, all in accordance with the company’s Corporate Policies and national accounting standards.

This position requires unwavering ethics and integrity as it relates to the accounting and reporting requirements of the Company.

This role reports to the North Americas Chief Accounting CAO.

Qualifications

About 10 years of related technical accounting experience with at least 5 years in a senior management role.

A Master Degree (or MBA) in Accounting, Finance or related major
CPA preferred
Accounting expertise in the media business
Public Accounting experience of at least 3 years in a big 4 audit firm.

Exposure to the services industry experience is preferred; knowledge of the Media/Communications field helpful.

Leadership skills and experience managing a team (more than 5 employees).

Candidates should possess a strong knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP.

Thorough knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting including balance sheet and profit and loss.

Significant experience in working closely with external auditors to ensure compliance with group reporting.

Significant experience providing GAAP and other accounting guidance to the company, including functioning as a resource to all business unit CFOs and accounting staff.

Knowledge and experience with SAP and Hyperion, or similar ERP.

Ensure the technical accounting and financial reporting aspects of transactions and strategic decisions have been properly addressed and considered in the internal control environment for US entities.

Ensure that reporting and accounting processes are aligned with Group procedures (SAP, HFM, etc…)
Ensure compliance with Financial Monitoring Controls (Similar to Sox) standards and audit coordination, all in accordance with the company’s Corporate Policies and national accounting standards.

Ensure media accounting and reporting are properly addressed
Manage the audits internal and external and compliance for entities in scope
Ensure that intercompany transactions (cash receipts, payments,) linked to cash pool and tax activities are correctly reflected
Work on the business transformation of the SSC in partnership with the agencies to increase quality and efficiency.

For a list of entities, implement the Record to Report project which aims to standardize accounting and reporting on a worldwide perimeter (SAP, GDW, Blackline, RPA tools)
Oversee a remote staff in several countries (India, Costa Rica, etc…)
