Technical Support Specialist

Company Description:

The largest full line distributor in the northeast United States of a very broad range of HVAC/R equipment and parts seeks a Technical Support Specialist to provide technical product support, equipment and systems start-up support, as well as solutions and training on various HVAC/R products and systems.

Location: Long Island City, NY

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years’ HVAC/R system startup and service experience

  • Fundamental knowledge of HVAC systems , parts and nomenclature

  • Proficient web application skills and ability to be trained in use of company-specific applications and software

  • Highly organized and adaptable to changing priorities

  • Client service oriented

Job Requirements:

Responsibilities Include but Not Limited to:

  • Handle a high volume of calls for extended periods, with a positive client service demeanor, both while travelling in the field and when inside the office

  • Provide technical assistance or information for favorable product specification, effectively promoting commercial third party products, influencing the purchase decision

  • Identify, analyze, diagnose, and repair systems and products at customer’s location

  • Work cooperatively with factory technical teams to provide technical support

  • Accurately educate or re-educate customers on basic system operations and functions including but not limited to equipment & system operation

  • Provide selling support through technical assistance to co-workers, customers, and others who may influence the purchase decision

  • Follow blueprints or engineering specifications and utilize a hands-on ability to work from diagrams and drawings and utilize tools of the trade

  • Perform pertinent training classes for installation and service as necessary
