MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS* Master’s Degree (copy required upon initial hire date)* Direct experience working with youth in a counseling position* Valid New York State Drivers License (copy required upon initial hire date)* Yearly Physical (required within one month after initial hire date)PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS* Licensed Masters Degree in Social Work* Previous experience in working with critically disturbed adolescentsHOURS* 40 hours per week* Must be flexible to meet the needs of the programPOSITION OBJECTIVEUnder the supervision of the RTA Program Director, effectively provide clinical therapeutic services to the RTA youth with the goal of family reunification and positive reintegration back into their home communities.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* Responsible for the provision of intensive individual, group and family therapy and treatment planning services for male at-risk youth in the RTA program.* Responsible for identifying potential mental health and substance abuse needs and making referrals when needed.* Will work closely with the Case Planner to ensure that the childs individual therapy needs are incorporated into the youths treatment plan.* Provide individual, group and family counseling to the RTA youth and their families.* Provide on-going updates and attend weekly supervision with the Program Director.* During weekly cottage team meetings, provide progress reports and updates regarding RTA youth and family interventions.* Prepare clinical reports for legal hearings and document any legal activity in Connections.* Attend all meetings and training as requested by the Program Director, Director of Institutional Services, and Human Resources Department.* Adhere to the treatment philosophy of The William George Agency and the rules, requirements, and regulations of the New York State Office of Children and Family Services.* Responsible for adhering to and performing all duties in accordance with the safety standard, practice, and policy of The William George Agency.
