Join us and start doingyour life’sbest work.SMPrimary Responsibilities:Pre register and / or register patients according todepartmental policy and procedureEnter patient information and charges into appropriatesystemProvide patients with all pertinent information and obtainappropriate signatures on medical, legal and financial formsVerify financial / insurance information using appropriatedatabase retrieval systemsProvide guidance and assistance to patients and staffmembers with regard to insurance regulationsAccept payment from patients; reconcile cash paymentsandprovide appropriate feedback to Supervisor regarding various payment and / orcash issuesDirect patients to appropriate areas following registrationPerform various related clerical duties supportingdepartment operations including, but not limited to, answering telephonemaintaining files, scanning, keeping inventory of supplies, and informingmanagement of all activities, needs and problemsMaintain current knowledge base regarding insuranceinformation and managed care guideline; maintain knowledge baseof designatednetworks based upon managed care contracts in order to provide assistance topatientsDemonstrate ability to utilize data retrieval insuranceeligibility systemsParticipate in quality control activitiesReview, assess and evaluate patient registrations to ensureaccuracy of demographic and financial information; and correct erroneousregistrations and inform SupervisorPerform related duties, as requiredYou’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in anenvironment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what ittakes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other rolesyou may be interested in.Required Qualifications:High School Diploma / GED (or higher)1 years of in person customer service experience experience including, but not limited to: hospital, physician’s office, medicalclinic, hospitality, banking, retail, etc.Familiarity with computers and Windows PC applications,which includes the ability to learn new and complex computer systemapplicationsMust be available to work part time, 30 hours per week, 11PM to 7 AM, various days and flexible with weekly scheduleAbility to work a training shift of Monday through Friday, 8AM to 4:30 PM, for 4 5 weeks until training is completeYou will be provisioned with appropriate Personal ProtectiveEquipment (PPE) and are required to perform this role with patients and memberson site, as this is an essential function of this roleEmployees are required to screen for symptoms using theProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.E., entering yoursymptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptomscreener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our worksites safe.

Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders.

Inaddition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to weara mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained.Preferred Qualifications:Any previous hospital or physician’s office patientregistration experienceExperience in insurance reimbursement and financialverificationBilingual and fluent in English and SpanishUnitedHealth Group is an essential business.
