Warehouse Material Operator

Minimum high school diploma or general education degree GED.Minimum one year previous shipping/receiving, warehouse or distribution center experience preferred.Minimum one year company truck or van driving experience, with an active CDL.Able to lift up to 50 lbs.Prior Forklift and pallet jack experience.Able to work overtime when needed.SUMMARY:Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares and packs items for shipment. Load and unload shipments. Drive the company truck or van for deliveries when needed.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: include the following: Assembles orders, checks against shipping or customer order and reports shortages and incomplete orders. Drive the company truck or van for local deliveries when needed. Selects appropriate shipping containers and packing material. Operates standard manual and automatic equipment. Stacks shipments on skids and takes shipments to shipping dock. Receives and unpacks materials and supplies. Checks receipts against purchase order for proper shipment, shortages, damages or defects. Expedites material to proper department or storage location. Operates crane, hoist or power truck to move materials. Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations. May rotate to other work stations in the unit. Performs other duties as requested, directed or assigned.ESSENTIAL SKILLS: include the following: Ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time. Ability to follow workplace safety standards and company policies and procedures. Ability to work in a team setting and contribute to building a positive team spirit. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Have the ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, colleagues and members of the business community when PUTER SKILLS: Some basic computer skills.MATHMATICAL SKILLS: Able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, measurements, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define basic problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Local, truck deliveries/pick-upsPHYSICAL DEMANDS: Good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity to work with small parts.
