Digital Marketing Analyst – Forecasting & Sales Planning


This is a Full-time position in Walton, NY posted April 28, 2021.

The Marketing Effectiveness Team enables and empowers the Macy’s organization with analytic insight and solutions to support planning, tactical execution, and optimization of the customer experience.

The Digital Marketing Analyst is responsible for providing cogent and timely analysis in support of the Marketing group.

This individual will be expected to analyze expected sales outcomes based on various scenarios of marketing investment.

They will be instrumental in developing processes and tools to improve the accuracy and efficiency of forecasting deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

· Support Marketing Managers with analytical insights and recommendations

· Forecast and analyze business results across marketing tactics
– Email Marketing, Paid Search, Natural Search, Affiliate Marketing, Display Marketing, Social, SMS and Push Messaging, etc.

· Provide recommendations for marketing budget allocation by day, week, and month based on expected optimal revenue

· Identify business trends and shifts, and recommend data-driven responses to the Marketing organization

· Organize and manage cross-tactic marketing data

· Standardize and broaden marketing metric reporting and tracking

· Develop new ways of viewing and analyzing marketing data

· Conduct research on and provide insight into industry / competitive marketing trends

· Stay informed about, communicate, and apply new or current trends and best practices in online marketing

Skills Summary:

The candidate must:

· Bachelor’s Degree required; degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Business or other quantitative field preferred.

· 2-4 years of relevant work experience in an analytical role.

· Have prior experience creating mathematically rigorous forward-looking sales plans.

· Have intermediate SQL skills required.

· Have experience analyzing digital marketing data required.

· Possess an analytical mindset and demonstrable critical thinking skills.

· Be able to translate data analysis into business recommendations.

· Be willing and able to learn new concepts and software applications quickly and thoroughly.

· Possess strong organizational and time management skills, with an attention to detail.

· Be comfortable working independently to achieve a successful result with minimal guidance.

· Have strong communication skills and be comfortable presenting to a group.

· Confidently handle multiple projects simultaneously and under deadlines.

· Possess proven ability to work with cross-functional teams.
