VP Brand Marketing

The Company Marketing team is looking for a visionary leader to guide the UM Brand strategy. As the VP Brand Marketing, this person will lead the evolution of our 4-year-old UM brand’s creative direction, expressions and growth.  At the core of this role is engaging all genres of emerging music artists, producers and continuing our disruptive rise in the music industry with the ongoing development and leadership of all B2B/B2C marketing campaigns. 

The right candidate will play a critical role in the next phase of building a world-class marketing capability while elevating brand awareness and subscriber growth. She/He/They must balance both data-driven creative, highly targeted and efficient media spend, and and management skills to deliver best in class brand 


  • Drive the evolution of UM’s Brand Marketing via brand foundations, brand voice and visual ID to inform all aspects of creative and expression globally
  • Partner with VP, Content Strategy to develop and support new products, events, innovations and outputs
  • Partner with the Translation (creative/brand services) team to ideate and build creative marketing programs and assets for the UM brand and products
  • Lead and execute UM’s brand campaign roll out to drive awareness, consideration, affinity, and incremental metrics to meet marketing department goals
  • Champion the UM brand vision and align creative needs with key internal stakeholders, particularly A&R, Artist Marketing and Product teams
  • Ensure maximum campaign effectiveness by setting, measuring, and optimizing short and long-term key performance indicators
  • Expand UM’s brand social strategy and voice across all outlets to support key department goals, optimize organic traffic, and amplify paid media campaigns
  • Interrogate insights and research reporting to deliver campaigns that resonates with the target audience


  • 10+ years of brand marketing or creative agency experience in music and tech or adjacent industry
  • Demonstrated track record of developing deep consumer insights leading to world-class marketing campaigns
  • Direct leadership of 360 marketing campaigns, product launches, and seasonal activations at global scale essential while delivering against clear and measurable KPIs
  • Fluent in quantitative and qualitative consumer research and brand tracking analysis
  • Expert visual storyteller for both internal and external audiences
  • Experience in a senior management position, directly growing and managing teams 3-5 marketers
  • Ability to keep teams focused on common goals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and resourcefulness with strong attention to detail.
