Ambulatory EHR Trainer/Analyst

This is a Contract position in Rockville Centre, NY posted January 10, 2022.

SUMMARY: Under general supervision, the Ambulatory EHR Trainer/Analyst has two key responsibilities; coordinate and lead ongoing EHR training for staff and providers that are effective and timely; and perform audits and corrective actions to ensure validity/integrity of data in NextGen, as guided by data generated out of NextGen.

Performs other duties as required.DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: NOTE: The following are the duties performed by employees in this classification, however, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level.

Serve as a key training resource for AHS new and existing staff and providers to ensure they properly use NextGen and other systems supporting Ambulatory Care.2.

Become an expert user and serve as an ongoing trainer for EHR systems.3.

Ensure that EHR training content is current and available.4.

Provide instructional design and project management support for EHR training and other IT related training.5.

Perform audits on systems that support the documentation of Ambulatory Care and coordinate corrective actions/training to drive performance improvement.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare or related field highly preferred.Minimum Experience: At least two years of experience using NextGen/EHR to document care in the Ambulatory setting required.

Two years of experience designing, implementing, evaluating, training (using adult learning principles) individuals to use EHR required.

Ideally, these two years would include working closely with/or training clinicians and staff in a hospital or outpatient setting.Minimum Experience: Clinical experience in a hospital or outpatient setting as a Medical Assistant or Nurse strongly preferred.

QI/Performance improvement experience strongly preferred.

Experience working with content authoring tools such as Captivate, Camtasia, Jing and/or other content development tools, strongly preferred.
