AR Coordinator

This is a Full-time position in Hauppauge, NY posted July 22, 2021.

Our client, a global manufacturing/distribution company is seeking an Accounts Receivable Coordinator.

The AR Coordinator will work with the AR team and Controller and initiate collections on past due accounts, follow up with Customers, and Sales on issues delaying, or preventing payment.

Responsibilities:
Post customer cash from wire, ACH, check, and credit cards.

Set up deductions and overpayments to customer accounts.

Communicate and resolve customers’ inquiries on invoicing discrepancies.

Follow up with Distribution, Customer Service, and Sales on customer deductions to determine if valid or invalid.

If valid, take steps to clear internally.

If invalid take steps necessary to recover payment.

Monitor and analyze customer payment performance.

Provide insights and recommendations to management on customer performance relative to our credit risk exposure.

Establish new customer accounts Initiate and follow through on bank and trade reference information to support our customer risk decisions.

Initiate and track pricing, promotion, and quantity credits owed to customers to ensure the accuracy of our accounts receivable balances.

Perform variance analysis between general ledger and the accounts receivable subledger on a monthly basis.

Track and collect unearned cash discounts.

Engage Customers and Sales to guide accounts towards consistent adherence to MacPherson’s terms of sale.

Provide clarity of the issues, and engage all stakeholders to resolve.

Assist the Accounting Department by gathering and packaging documentation requested by external auditors, bank auditors, and state tax audit agencies.

Requirements:
2+ years’ experience in AR Experience with customer service and client communication Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Ability to create and edit Excel spreadsheets Familiarity with accounting software programs Ability to use Microsoft productivity software such as Excel and Word Excellent attention to detail Strong organizational ability Effective corporate communications skills Ability to consistently meet all deadlines
