Fire Fighting Engineer

This is a Full-time position in Brooklyn, NY posted September 19, 2021.

On behalf of a Brooklyn based Property Management company, we are looking for a Fire Safety Director. Previous experience is a must.

The candidate must have all the relevant certificates.

This position is for Night Shift. Long term / temporary work

Job Requirements:

  • Maintain and update fire protection and fire marshal program training documentation
  • Maintain an expert knowledge of fire safety and fire risk management
  • Verify the proper installation of fire protection systems
  • Assisting with fire alarm inspections
  • Publishing corporate fire protection standards and policies
  • Assist in the development of fire protection programs
  • Remediate operational/mechanical issues for plant fire protection
  • Troubleshooting fire system issues, impairments, and general fire prevention inquiries
  • Assist fire protection engineers with the completion of contractually required and management directed fire protection program self assessments
  • Assist with or conduct fire investigations
  • Conducting inspections for fire hazards
  • Standardize the base fire protection model deployed within the corporation
  • Supervise a staff of fire protection engineers and technicians
  • Disseminate fire safety and code compliance materials
  • Develop and implement effective fire protection designs to comply with fire codes, standards, and regulations
  • Conduct or assist with all fire drills
  • Abating hazards related to fire and life safety
  • Develop and effectively utilize sound engineering principles and capabilities in the conduct of appropriate fire modeling, fire water and fire flow calculations
  • Assist in conducting fixed fire system testing and fire brigade school – Other duties
  • Participate in fire safety education during new employee orientation
