Head of People

Company is looking for a Head of People to be our first dedicated HR hire and a member of the senior leadership team. This person will be responsible for contributing and championing our team culture, creating performance management processes, owning our recruiting processes, developing team learning/development resources, managing total rewards (compensation, benefits), handling employee relations, and contributing to employee engagement.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • • Design and own the recruiting process and on-going improvements to onboarding, performance management, learning and development, and long-term organizational planning
  • • Be the point of contact for employee questions regarding, but not limited to, employee relations, company policies, leadership and employee development, and compensation
  • • Create compensation strategy to attract, motivate, and retain talent
  • • Help build more effective cross-departmental collaboration and internal communications across the organization
  • • Develop a scalable onboarding program for all new incoming employees
  • • Build and foster an inclusive and diverse culture aligned to our company vision, mission & values
  • • Build and develop people manager skills and leadership team effectiveness
  • • Ensure consistency in the application of people policies and practices throughout the company so that values and principles are upheld and legal risks are managed

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • • Solid understanding of HR practices and US employment law
  • • 7+ years of experience in the people/human resources function, some of which are at a high growth start up
  • • Flexible leader that can operate at a highly strategic level, but can also deep dive tactically
  • • Demonstrated ability to identify issues and offer scaled solutions, oriented both short- and long-term
  • • Excellent judgement with outstanding communication and relationship-building skills
  • • Ability to synthesize complex situations into a digestible, action-oriented format for business leaders and their teams
  • • Ability to flourish in a rapidly changing organization, and operate comfortably with ambiguity and complexity
