Our new Laboratory Medicine Building maximizes operational efficiency, allowing our Laboratory Medicine team to provide test results more quickly and reduce the amount of blood needed from a patient to generate those results.

We have invested in cutting edge technology in this lab and have a strong focus upon molecular sequencing.

nn nnYou will:nn nnPerform and maintain competency in the technical and related work in the Histocompatibility Laboratory to support the hospital’s Hematopoietic Stem Cell and Bone Marrow transplantation program.

Testing includes DNA extraction, PCR, HLA typing of Class I and II genes, engraftment monitoring, KIR typing, and HLA antibody screening and identification.nn nnMaintain complete, accurate, legible, neat, organized, up-to-date records/logs/files,nn nnAssure the accuracy of all tests performed by adhering to the Laboratory’s Standard Operating Proceduresnn nnPerform routine and advanced equipment maintenancenn nnContribute to the upkeep and safety of the Laboratory and assures a clean, safe, adequately supplied work areann nnParticipate in the laboratory inventory program that provides adequate inventories of reagents and suppliesnn nnCreate and help maintain an environment that emphasizes safety following New York State DOH, Joint Commission, OSHA and CLIA regulationsnn nnProvide direction, training, and feedback on routine laboratory procedures, as assignednn nnYou have:nn nnA Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Sciencesnn nnA NY State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License requirednn nn2+ years of experience working in a clinical laboratory requirednn nn2+ years of experience working in a molecular laboratory strongly preferred.nn nnExcellent computer, verbal and written communication skillsnn nnASCP certification preferrednn nnHours of work:nn nn37.5 hours per weeknn nnMonday
