We are seeking an exceptional, research focused engineer / scientist to lead research in generating innovative metrology to assess filtration media and device performance for life science applications.Who you are:You have deep knowledge of common material characterization techniques for porous materials, polymers, or particles, and have knowledge of surface/interface especially biomaterial interface.

•Leading or managing projects to develop/identify/modify/adapt innovative metrology and material characterization methods to fill the gap of internal testing capabilities
•Design and perform hands-on lab work to evaluate properties and performance of filter components and devices
•Develop fundamental understanding of filter membrane/device properties and performance relationship, and align in house test methodology with customer end use
•Translate problems into R&D objectives, specify requirements, investigate options (based on technical complexity and cost), tackle problems, and meet deliverablesTechnical Support and Collaboration
•Work with cross-functional team to provide metrology support and expertise, implement fully validated test methodology into relevant product development teams
•Build and maintain new relationships with academic research institutes and service providers to better understand unmet needs for metrology development, and expand metrology capabilities;Our Pall scientists and engineers publish and present their work within and outside Pall and Danaher, journals and at industry conferences.Pall and Danaher offer competitive health and wellness benefits, matching 401K, company cell phones, and permissive PTO and holidays.Come join us today!Basic QualificationsPhD with 0-2 years industrial experience, or MS with at least 3 years industrial experience in material science/engineering, polymer science/engineering, chemistry/chemical engineering, biochemistry/bioengineeringExtensive hands-on laboratory experience in characterizing structural/surface/bulk properties of materials using common analytical techniques (microscopy, spectroscopy, thermal, mechanical, rheological, etc.)Preferred QualificationsKnowledge of filtration or membranes Advanced knowledge of material application in Life Science (biopharm, medical, etc.) related fieldsA track record of scientific productivity and innovation as evidenced by high quality publications, patents, or commercialized productsWhen you join us, you’ll also be joining Danaher’s global organization, where 69,000 people wake up every day determined to help our customers win.
