VP Corporate Strategy


This is a Full-time position in New York, NY posted January 26, 2022.

The Corporate Strategy Team works like an internal consulting group partnering closely with the corporate, business unit, and functional leadership to solve business challenges and inform decision-making in the most critical, high-impact areas of the business.  This leader will drive rapid strategy development for our client-facing business units and corporate functions.  They will also lead transformative work like new product development, go-to-market strategies, digitization initiatives, organizational effectiveness, and business process redesign among others.

The VP, Corporate Strategy would lead a team of Corporate Strategy associates that are working on the most important initiatives at the company. This role reports to COMPANY’s SVP, Strategy & Innovation, and presents a unique opportunity to work in close proximity to senior COMPANY leadership.


  • Manage a team of corporate strategy associates who are executing on strategic initiatives aligned with the company’s recently launched five-year strategic vision
  • Execute and manage large, complicated strategy projects with multiple stakeholders, which involve strategy development, analysis, and planning for achieving business growth, performing business unit strategy development, and developing other strategic initiatives related to our team members, our clients, new products, and services
  • Develop content for executive-level presentations and reports to communicate and achieve buy-in for strategic recommendations
  • Design and facilitate various workshops and working sessions with COMPANY executives to build understanding and drive business outcomes
  • Develop a high degree of trust with key stakeholders to help manage relationships, engagement risks, and project economics including planning and budgeting
  • Work with key strategy stakeholder groups to build cross-functional relationships across the organization
  • Act as a counselor and coach, taking responsibility for developing the careers of junior team members, and leading staff recruitment and retention activities

Minimum Requirements

Education, Required Skills & Competencies

  • 10+ years of experience with a strategy/management consulting firm or strategic planning / corporate strategy group
  • Strong leadership and project management skills
  • Strategic, highly analytical thinker with sound business judgment and proven thought leadership
  • Self-starter who will work independently to drive projects forward within set objectives
  • Diverse problem-solving experience with the ability to contribute to solution development across a variety of functional areas
  • Proven ability to work on cross-functional teams in order to deliver business outcomes
  • Ability to flex between big picture thinking and sharp attention to detail
  • Well-tuned emotional intelligence
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor for various functional areas and levels of management
  • Operates with a sense of urgency and transparency
  • Passion for contributing to large strategic initiatives
