The school, which enrolled its inaugural PharmD class in 2017, is now housed in a new, state-of-the-art, 105,000-square-foot building dedicated to research and education and located at the University’s new Health Sciences Campus.

The school’s outstanding leaders in pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences use contemporary medication management and innovative research to transform human health locally and globally.

The research and clinically focused school is training the next generations of graduates to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered pharmaceutical care to diverse groups of patients, especially those who are in underserved rural and geriatric communities.

Our new pharmacy simulations laboratory houses a hospital pharmacy with a 797-compliant sterile room, community pharmacy with a robotic dispenser, patient home setting, and 3 hospital rooms complete with electrocardiographic/respiratory/hemodynamic monitoring and high-fidelity mannequins.

The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences obtained Candidate status from the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education in June 2018.

In the future, the PhD program under development will be renowned for its contributions to translational, clinical and outcomes research within the changing landscape of drug development, pharmacy practice and clinical science.

Job Description: The school invites applications for a faculty position in the Department of Health Outcomes and Administrative Sciences in the tenure or clinical track.

The candidate should demonstrate expertise conducting mixed methods research with established expertise in qualitative research and achievements commensurate for a position at the assistant professor rank.

Candidates with established research interests and active collaborations are preferred.

Appointment requires demonstrated research interests in areas where fundable extramural research programs exist.

The candidate should possess excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to scholarship, teaching in a pharmacy degree program, and contributing to graduate level coursework.

Primary duties and responsibilities include: Develop a vigorous research program that will obtain competitive, external funding.

Provide teaching through the delivery of integrated coursework and coordination of 1-2 courses in the required PharmD curriculum, coursework in PharmD elective courses, and participation in PharmD student capstone research projects.

Provide research mentorship to PharmD and/or PhD students in related areas of public health, implementation science, or health outcomes research with an emphasis on mixed methodology.

Participate in service activities at the School and University levels, as appropriate.

Demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence through teaching, research and service.

Demonstrate a commitment to the diversity of students, faculty, and staff and an inclusive academic environment.

Requirements: Applicants must have earned a PhD, DrPH, ScD, MPH or a PharmD in an appropriate field of study, have demonstrated potential for success in scholarship and teaching, and be eligible for appointment at the Assistant Professor Level.

Applicants having experience in conducting research using mixed methods are preferred as are candidates who have either completed post-doctoral research training or have prior experience in higher education (particularly health care related programs).
