Job Description: The Department of Romance Languages at Binghamton University seeks to hire a lecturer of Spanish, beginning in August 2020, with expertise in any of the following fields: Latinx studies, Border studies, Mexican and Chicano studies, Central America studies.

This is a full-time position of three years with possible renewal.

The teaching load is three courses for one semester and four for the other.

Competitive salary with the option to teach online during winter and summer breaks for additional compensation.

Requirements: Candidates should hold an MA or PhD in Spanish (or be ABD), and have native or near-native fluency in both Spanish and English.

The faculty in this position is expected to teach Spanish language courses at all levels (from elementary to advanced) therefore, candidates should have experience and superior performance in college language teaching.

They should also be prepared to teach culture/literature courses for minors and majors, as well as graduate/undergraduate seminars on subjects related to their research.
