We are seeking a Director of Facilities Management/Plant Operations to join our team!

Henrico Doctors Hospital , the Forest Campus , is a 340-bed acute care facility located in Richmond, VA.

We are a Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) facility, who ranks 63 rd on Fortune’s 100 , and is one of the largest healthcare systems in the U.S, where healthcare employment opportunities are almost endless!

The Director of Plant Operations is a qualified individual with general knowledge of all applicable building codes and licensure requirements (NFPA, VA State Code, BOCA National Codes); and OSHA, EPA,JCAHO and other National and State regulatory rules and regulations.

Is capable of writing equipment or construction specifications as required to meet the needs of the hospital or the department.

He/she is able to analyze problem situations and draw conclusions and develop plans of attack for problem solving.

1.

Manages programs to maintain buildings, grounds and equipment.

2.

Manages the procurement/generation of all utilities and their distribution systems.

3.

Coordinates maintenance activities with other departments in order to ensure safe and efficient operations of the Hospital.

4.

Recommends development of physical facilities and reviews/approves plans of construction.

5.

Acts as liaison with contractors, architects, engineers, and material and equipment suppliers.

6.

Establishes and manages Preventive Maintenance Programs.

7.

Periodically inspects buildings and utility systems in order to determine need for alterations/ repairs.

8.

May direct safety, fire control, and civil defense programs.

9.

Manages department employees in conformance with established Human Resources Policies and Procedures.

10.

Supervises and coordinates activities of departmental personnel engaged in operation/maintenance of refrigeration, power, heat and cooling systems.

11.

Supervises installation and repair of new and/or complex equipment.

12.

Maintains records which give a repair history for all equipment.

13.

Prepares required departmental budgets.

14.

Routinely monitors and controls over time.

15.

Completes employee evaluations in a timely manner.

16.

Ensures compliance with The Joint Commission standards including Environment of Care and Life Safety.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE

Required
– 5 years maintenance experience in a hospital setting.

Preferred – 10 years maintenance experience in a hospital setting.

EDUCATION

Required – Bachelor degree or Associate Degree and is completing Bachelor degree

Preferred – Bachelor of Science
