*Long Beach Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, * is actively seeking a Director of Food Services to join our dynamic team of caring professionals.*Position Summary: *The primary purpose of your job position is planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Dietary Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator, to assure that quality nutritional services are provided on a daily and that the dietary department is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner. As the Director of Food Services, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.*Qualifications: ** Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma and be a graduate of an accredited course in dietetic training approved by New York State, or have a post high school degree in a related field.* Must have, as a minimum, 2 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility.* Must have training in cost control, food management, diet therapy, etc.* Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.* Must be knowledgeable of dietary practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations and guidelines governing dietary functions in the long-term care facility.* Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.* Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc., of the Dietary Services Department.*Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: ** Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Dietary Department, its programs and activities.* Coordinate dietary services and activities with other related departments (i.e., Nursing, Housekeeping, Social Services, etc.).* Develop and maintain written dietary policies and procedures.* Develop and maintain written job descriptions and performance evaluations for each level of dietary personnel.* Direct the dietary staff in the development and use of departmental policies, procedures, equipment, supplies, etc.* Assume the responsibility of obtaining/maintaining material safety data sheets (MSDSs) for hazardous chemicals used or stored in the dietary department.* Oversee food preparation, portion sizes, and overall presentation of food.* Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas.* Ensure employees comply with health and food safety standards and regulations.* Investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality or service.We are an EOE.Job Type: Full-timePay: $65,000.00 – $70,000.00 per yearBenefits:* 401(k)* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Paid time offSchedule:* 8 hour shiftExperience:* Director of Food Services: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location
