This includes master data management (customer/product), contract review/processing, billing/invoice delivery, and customer care across Cox Automotive revenue streams, customer segments and billing platforms. The position will be responsible for supporting key strategic initiatives in addition to building a high-performance culture within the Billing function. The Senior Director, Billing will help to meet Coxs strategic goals by coordinating objectives, collaborating with business stakeholders, and aligning appropriate resources.A focus on continuous improvement including the standardization and enhancement of Cox Automotives Billing processes, policies, and procedures is essential to success in this position. This includes partnering with Business Units, Sales, Legal, Finance, Accounting & AR/Credit/Collections, as well as Billing Technology Platform functions. Additionally, the ability to optimize upstream and downstream processes and to integrate improvements into operating plans and goals is essential. Ongoing individual development within the Billing organization is another critical success factor including the ability to transform and adapt the Billing organization to the companys shifting business model and strategiesThe ideal candidate must have strong leadership, governance, and communication experience in a global organization, with a track record leading a high performing team and managing service levels. Additional responsibilities include:* Lead a centralized Billing organization of ~60 team members, including a staff of Sr. Managers, Supervisors and Billing Specialists* Responsible for Billing operations across all Cox Automotive business* Provide leadership and oversight to ensure all Billing processes such as master data management (customer/product), contract review/processing, and billing/invoice delivery are completed timely and accurately while in compliance with policy and regulations* Partner with Sales, Legal, Finance and other Business leaders to identify, develop, drive alignment, document, and enforce standard contract language and deal structures to support Billing integrity, efficiencies, and scalability* Establish and execute a Billing function roadmap that aligns with Cox Automotive and EF&A goals and strategies* Align with downstream AR/Credit/Collections to build an end-to-end Order-to-Cash functional roadmap* Advise on revenue recognition impact as it relates to new product offerings or agreements, in partnership with Cox Automotive Accounting* Monitor and manage teams performance against benchmarks, targets, quality, and reliability* Drive the creation of key performance metrics related to Billing, and monitor/manage to ensure Billing accuracy, timely cash flow, efficient customer communication and timely resolution of escalated issues* Partner with Internal Controls Governance, Financial Reporting and Accounting to implement, document and manage efficient and effective cross functional processes and tools related to contract review to ensure ongoing compliance with revenue recognition guidelines under ASC 606* Assist in the development and maintenance of effective internal controls, identifying operational risks and ensuring the system of internal controls is observed by all shared service functions is adequate and effective* Support internal/external audit efforts and responds to audit requests in a timely manner* Create and sustain a culture of continuous improvement to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of accounting operations* Identify best practices, efficiencies, strategic methods, and compliant procedures for Billing across the company to provide consistent services to internal and external business partners* Direct and collaborate with multi-functional groups to leverage expertise in deploying technology and processes to support Coxs Finance & Accounting environmentLeadership & Organizational Development:* Build and enhance a Billing organization that provides proactive support and results-driven execution of responsibilities to meet the current and future needs of Cox Automotive* Manage and coach leaders to increase engagement and strengthen professional development. Continually strive to develop talent within to promote individual development and career growth* Drive Billing governance and relationships, including shared objectives for Order-to-Cash function* Develop and implement goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to all aspects of Cox Automotive Billing operations. Responsible for tracking and meeting those goals and ensuring adherence to those policies and procedures* Liaise with key stakeholders across Cox Automotive to ensure appropriate service levels are being provided.* Work with internal and external auditors annually and/or as needed based on their requests for informationQualifications:* Bachelors degree in Business, Finance and/or Accounting or equivalent experience required. Advanced Degree and/or CPA preferred.* 12+ years of Accounting & Finance or Order-to-Cash experience required* 7+ years of experience in a leadership role* Proven track record in successfully leading high visibility teams with tight deadlines* Experience with implementing and managing strategic metrics and daily operational service levels* Proven ability to deliver high levels of customer service; demonstrated governance and communication capabilities with key stakeholders* Proven ability to influence and to collaborate at the highest levels of corporate management* Experience within a global center of excellence environment a plus* Excellent oral and written communication is mandator* Strong leadership skills including demonstrated ability to coach and mentor* Strong influencing skills and ability to work in a matrixed environment* Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills* Strong communication skills and ability to effectively interact with executives within the organization regarding highly sensitive information.* Excellent organizational and analytical skills* Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting methodolgies* Experience/exposure related to compliance with ASC 606 a plus* Ability to work effectively under pressure, and shift priorities quickly as required and rapidly adapt to changing environments* Ability to understand business strategy and translate into effective tactical plans* Excellent problem solving and prioritization skills with strong attention to detail* Proven ability to work with minimal direction, as well as be resourceful and independent in solving problems* Strong computer skills and proficient use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint* Strong knowledge of Oracle Financials* Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment* Proven ability to work with all levels in the organizationWho We Are* About Cox Automotive*Theres nothing ordinary about Cox Automotive.
