POSITION Vice President, Business Development REPORTS TO: Vice President, Investor Relations AlphaCat DEPARTMENT: AlphaCat Capital LOCATION: Parsippany, NJ PERSONS TO BE SUPERVISED: Investor Relations Team POSITION SUMMARY: the Vice President, Business Development will assist in promoting the AlphaCat funds through bringing in new business and managing existing relationships. KEY RESPONSIBILITES: – Build and ensure a robust pipeline of institutional clients; – Build and manage a portfolio of consultants and other distribution channels; – Build and manage an existing portfolio of institutional clients; – Contribute as needed to ongoing relationship meetings and due diligence sessions; – Work alongside Investor Relations team to develop, execute and refine business development strategy; – Work alongside broader organization to ensure appropriate stakeholders are engaged to service clients; – Develop and contribute to marketing materials and messaging; – Travel locally and internationally to build and manage relationships as well as to attend industry events and conferences to represent AlphaCat; – Monitoring trade publications & news sources to identify potential investors; – Regular attendance of operational committees including but not limited to the Valuation Working Group; – Other duties as required. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: – Bachelors degree in Economics or related subject from accredited university; – MBA / CFA designation preferred; – Minimum of 7-10 years experience in a professional services role requiring investor communications such as investment banking, asset management, investment consulting or similar; – At least 2 years of experience preferred in a role working to grow and secure funding from investors; – Direct experience preferred in structuring, marketing, evaluating or investing in ILS funds or products sold to ILS funds; – Substantial knowledge of finance including accounting, securities valuation and portfolio management theory; – Knowledge of global capital markets including potential investors, common products and rules and regulations; – Excellent communication and presentation skills; – Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of applications; – Excellent verbal and written communication skills; i.e., a thorough command of the English language including excellent spelling, grammar and punctuation; – The ability to deal effectively and courteously with clients and colleagues, and to exercise discretion and confidentiality in all matters; – Must be willing to travel extensively and work outside of normal office hours including evenings, weekends and public holidays if necessary.
